Over a year into the devastation, Palestinians in Gaza have been enduring immense suffering, grief, sorrow, and loss. Their lives are dominated by fear, thirst, hunger, disease, dehumanisation, lack of basic sanitation, and repeated displacement. Famine is a real threat across the Gaza Strip, and the situation continues to deteriorate.
Gaza’s families are caught in an unimaginable struggle. Deadly attacks have claimed the lives of more than 46,000 Palestinians, with over 70% of those killed being women and children. Most hospitals across Gaza are no longer functioning, and those that remain operational are overwhelmed by the sheer number of survivors in need of urgent care.
Amidst this ongoing crisis, the destruction of over 700 groundwater wells since October 2023 has plunged Gaza into an acute water crisis, affecting 90% of the population. The UN estimates that the average Gazan is surviving on just 3 litres of water per day, far below the humanitarian standard of 15 litres. This lack of clean water greatly increases the risk of waterborne and skin diseases among displaced people, making immediate action essential. Supplies of fuel are almost depleted, and there are severe shortages of food and medicines. The number of aid trucks entering Gaza each day is a small fraction of what the UN deems necessary. Even before this escalation in conflict, nearly 70% of Palestinians were living below the poverty line, almost continually reliant on international humanitarian aid organisations.

- Muslim Futures are supporting water tankers to access community centres and schools sheltering displaced people across Gaza.
- We are in daily contact with multiple local volunteers on the ground across the Gaza Strip to co-ordinate and arrange the supply of hot cooked meals of rice and pulses to extended family groups and small communities.
- Muslim Futures arranges, through local volunteers, the distribution of food packs, including staples, vegetable packs, and meat when available.
- The distribution of small discreet cash payments to those in dire need, helping the dispossessed purchase essential supplies.
- Muslim Futures also helps to support dignity with supply of hygiene kits and other necessities of daily living.
- The distribution of blankets and mattresses, and warm high quality winter clothes, for women and children.
- Arranging the purchase and distribution through partners of high quality tents and solar lighting rigs that support daily life.
Alhamdulillah, Muslim Futures is working closely with our local volunteers and partners in Gaza, who despite the dangers and threats to their own lives, are working tirelessly to support the innocent and injured people of Gaza. With your kindness, we raise money each day to distribute, across a variety of needs reaching thousands of people with essential food, water and shelter.
But the need remains critical. With 1.9 million people displaced, families have no food, clean water, or access to medical care. Every second without action is another life at risk.
